Future Rivers trainee Rachel Fricke wins research award

Future Rivers trainee Rachel Fricke has been hard at work counting and surveying lake and public park users across lowland lakes in western Washington to understand when, how, and why people use public waterbodies, and what barriers may impede waterbody access. She recently won the College of the Environment Integral Environmental Big Data Research Fund Award for her project, “Emerging technologies to assess human benefits from and risks to water resources.”
